Rocket Mortage Classic Betting Trends
Stats to look for this week:
– Strokes Gained Tee-To-Green (SGT2G)
– Strokes Gained Putting (SGP)
– Par 4 Scoring Average (Par 4 Scoring)
– Scrambling
Bryson DeChambeau
As the defending champ at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, DeChambeau is in a class all by himself. This weekend, he comes in as the odds-on favorite at +750 to win the tournament for the second straight year. I’m not sure just how much stock I’ll have in him, but you must put some type of wager down. After all, when the driver is working on point, there’s no one that can outduel him physically. DeChambeau does rank fifth on tour in Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green (SGT2G).
Rocket Mortgage Classic Tips 2021
Patrick Reed (+1400) & Webb Simpson (+1600)
Both guys are in a favorable position this week, but Simpson will be much more of a bang for your buck. Their Rocket Mortgage Classsic odds are +1600 for Simpson, while Reed has the most favorable odds on at +1400.
Currently, Simpson is the No. 1 Scrambling player on tour to go along with a No. 12 ranking in Par-4 Scoring. Reed is no pushover either, ranking eighth in Strokes Gained Putting and 12th in Par-4 Scoring. In terms of putting it all together, there may not be two better golfers to put your money on.
Will Zalatoris (+2500)
It has been a while since we heard from Zalatoris, the youngster that looks like Happy Gilmore’s caddy. After finishing second at The Masters, he posted an eighth-place finish at The PGA Championship – and then not much since. This is the perfect time to buy somewhat low on Zalatoris when no one is really thinking much about him anymore. He does rank ninth in Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green.
Rickie Fowler (+5000)
I have to be honest with you, I’m not much of a Fowler fan at all. In fact, I think he may be the most overrated golfer on tour. Now, here comes the big however…
Fowler is sponsored by Rocket Mortgage, so there is some kind of narrative attached to him. Despite missing the cut at the Travelers Championship, Fowler did have a T8 at the PGA Championship and a T11 at the Memorial Tournament. Hey, we needed a longshot pick, and he’s it!
