Monday’s 11-game NBA slate gets another week of basketball action underway. The national-TV doubleheader will be handled by NBA TV, featuring the Phoenix Suns at New York Knicks & Dallas Mavericks at Sacramento Kings.
On Friday, I went 2-1 to bring my season-long record to 104-70-2 ATS (59.8%). Here are three more free NBA picks to get the week off on the right foot.
Table of contents
- Atlanta Hawks (-3.5) at Detroit Pistons – Total: 217
- San Antonio Spurs (-2.5) at Washington Wizards – Total: 228
- Memphis Grizzlies at Denver Nuggets (-4) – Total: 228
Atlanta Hawks (-3.5) at Detroit Pistons – Total: 217
ATL: back-end b2b (vs MIL yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6, 5 in 7
DET: normal rest
The initial spread on this game was Hawks -7.5, and then it dramatically plummeted to -3.5. Perhaps, the injuries to ATL’s depth could finally be taking a toll. For tonight’s game, De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish have already been ruled out while Kris Dunn and Tony Snell have the questionable tag.
Most of you know that I’ve had no issue going with the Pistons, as I have taken them numerous times recently. In fact, they have been much better at home, going 2-1 SU/3-0 ATS in their last three played in Detroit. In addition, the Pistons are 13-9-1 ATS as a home underdog. The Hawks are 4-6-1 ATS on the back end of B2B sets this season.
Betting Pick: Pistons (+3.5)
San Antonio Spurs (-2.5) at Washington Wizards – Total: 228
SA: normal rest
WSH: back-end b2b (vs CLE yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
This is one of those games that sticks out like a sore thumb. The Wizards are on an eight-game winning streak, and now find themselves as a 3.5-point underdog at home. A big part of that, though, is because Washington is playing its second game in as many night and a string of four games in six days.
The Spurs have also been quite strong in the number of different trends that apply to tonight’s contest. San Antonio is 19-8 ATS on the road and 7-4 ATS as a road favorite. In addition, the Spurs will look to continue clobbering Eastern Conference opponents, going 15-8 ATS against them this season.
Betting Pick: Spurs (-2.5)
Memphis Grizzlies at Denver Nuggets (-4) – Total: 228
MEM: back-end b2b (@POR yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
DEN: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
This should be a tough game for each side, considering they have played a lot in recent days. In fact, the Grizzlies just played yesterday; and they are also currently on a string of three games in four days and four in six. Meanwhile, the Nuggets have played three games in four days and four in six. At the end of the day, these are two tired basketball teams – and Memphis even played yesterday. This isn’t exactly a low number set as the total either, and there’s no Jamal Murray for Denver.
Betting Pick: Under 228 points
