Wednesday’s 11-game NBA slate is sure to have plenty of action on it. The national TV doubleheader will be handled by ESPN- it’s the Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks & Brooklyn Nets at Utah Jazz. With a few more nights until March Madness resumes, we can enjoy some NBA action without distraction.
Last night, I went 2-2 to keep the season-long record in a similar 63-36-2 ATS (63.6%) position. Here are five more free NBA picks for tonight that should help increase the bankroll.
Table of contents
- Detroit Pistons at Indiana Pacers (-6) – Total: 218.5
- Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks (-6) – Total: 230
- Denver Nuggets (-2.5) at Toronto Raptors – Total: 223
- Phoenix Suns (-10) at Orlando Magic – Total: 215.5
- Charlotte Hornets (-2.5) at Houston Rockets – Total: 222.5
Detroit Pistons at Indiana Pacers (-6) – Total: 218.5
DET: 2 days rest
IND: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
The Pacers have really struggled at home, going 6-13 ATS and 5-10 ATS as a home favorite. Tonight’s spread against the Pistons has that “too good to be true” element to it, so I will be favoring the Pistons here. They’re not as bad as you think, going 22-17 ATS as an underdog and 12-10-1 ATS as a road underdog. In fact, Detroit even had two full days off before this matchup, where it is 7-4 ATS in this scenario.
Betting Pick: Pistons (+6)
Boston Celtics at Milwaukee Bucks (-6) – Total: 230
BOS: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
MIL: normal rest
Unfortunately, we missed the great value on the Bucks here. I still think they put a good whooping on a Celtics team that has really struggled away from home this season. Boston has dreadful 7-16 ATS numbers on the road while going 4-7 ATS as a road underdog. The Bucks, on the other hand, have been steady at home going 13-9 ATS. Milwaukee has also won eight of the last 11 meetings between the teams.
Betting Pick: Bucks (-6)
Denver Nuggets (-2.5) at Toronto Raptors – Total: 223
DEN: back-end b2b (@ORL yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
TOR: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
Despite playing their second game in as many nights, and a string of four games in six days, I believe the Nuggets will get it done tonight against the Raptors. I should note Toronto is also playing its fourth game in six days. Denver has also covered five of its last six games against tonight’s opponent, winning four of them outright.
The Raptors got boatraced in their last game against a Rockets team that is legit trying to lose games. Look for the Nuggets to get another comfortable win.
Betting Pick: Nuggets (-2.5)
Phoenix Suns (-10) at Orlando Magic – Total: 215.5
PHX: back-end b2b (@MIA yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6, 5 in 7
ORL: back-end b2b (vs. DEN yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6, 5 in 7
I made a joke last night about the Magic-Suns game being played on motorized scooters. Both teams are playing their second game in as many nights and a string of five games in seven days. in this situation, I have to roll with Phoenix on the fact that it is 8-1 ATS on the back end of back-to-back sets. While Orlando is a very respectable 5-3 ATS in that same scenario, this is a team that is falling apart with every day that passes on the calendar.
The Suns are the third best ATS team in basketball, covering just under 70% of their games. On the road is where they have been particularly dazzling, going 14-5 ATS and 9-5 ATS as a road favorite. This is one of the greatest fundamental teams I have ever seen play basketball, so they should easily take care of the Magic here. There has been a huge difference in non-conference play between the teams, as the Suns are 10-5 ATS against the West while the Magic is 5-11 ATS against the West.
Betting Pick: Suns (-10)
Charlotte Hornets (-2.5) at Houston Rockets – Total: 222.5
CHA: normal rest
HOU: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
The oddsmakers just don’t get it yet with the Rockets- they suck. I mean, like, historically suck. They’re 4-17 ATS at home and 2-10 ATS as home underdogs. Houston did end its 20-game losing streak on Monday with a win over the Raptors. This is ridiculous that the Rockets are only 2.5-point underdogs. Do you understand how hard they probably partied on Monday night after that win? I’m surprised there wasn’t a parade in Houston.
Betting Pick: Hornets (-2.5)
