Here in Week 17 of the NFL season, it’s our last chance to capitalize on regular-season prop bets. The wide receivers on this list are all in advantageous spots to do damage, so we’ll be taking the over on all of these instances.
In this article, I will identify the best value in the player-prop betting market from these WR matchups. The odds in this article are from William Hill Sports – Use the promo code TS500 for a 100% first-time sign-up deposit bonus of up to $500.
Wide Receiver Props for Week 17
- Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. Atlanta Falcons
- Adam Thielen (Minnesota Vikings) at Detroit Lions
- Curtis Samuel (Carolina Panthers) vs. New Orleans Saints
Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) vs. Atlanta Falcons
Sunday, 1:00 pm EST | Watch: FOX
Raymond James Stadium – Tampa, FL
Prop Bets Watch:
- Over 64.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
- Over 4.5 Receptions (-145)
In last week’s win against the Lions, it was odd to see Evans still on the field while the Bucs were up quite handily in the second half. But there was a good reason for it- personal accomplishments. Evans broke his own team record of TD receptions (13) but still remains 40 yards shy of reaching 1,000 for the seventh straight season. Randy Moss owns the NFL record for most consecutive seasons (six) with 1,000+ yards to start a career, so 40+ yards from Evans would have him all alone at the top.
A Bucs win on Sunday would secure them at the No. 5 seed in the NFC, setting up a date with the winner of the NFC East. In the Week 15 matchup against the Falcons, Evans had six catches on seven targets for 110 yards.
Adam Thielen (Minnesota Vikings) at Detroit Lions
Sunday, 1:00 pm EST | Watch: FOX
Ford Field – Detroit, MI
Prop Bets Watch:
- Over 67.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
- Over 4.5 Receptions (-130)
The Lions defense was fully exposed by a talented Bucs receiving corps last week. Granted, the duo of Thielen of Justin Jefferson is not as great, but they can certainly do some damage against a team that is allowing the third-most passing yards per game (278.3) this season.
I could’ve just as easily gone with Jefferson in this spot, but I do feel like Thielen has better TD upside here. The Vikings aren’t going to the playoffs, so it does make sense for QB Kirk Cousins to look Thielen’s way a little more on Sunday and get him as close as possible to an unreachable 1,000-yard mark at this point.
Curtis Samuel (Carolina Panthers) vs. New Orleans Saints
Sunday, 4:25 pm EST | Watch: FOX
Bank of America Stadium – Charlotte, NC
Prop Bets Watch:
- Over 48.5 Receiving Yards (-120)
- Over 4.5 Receptions (+120)
The Panthers come into this game lacking some key personnel in the backfield, with Christian McCaffrey and Mike Davis ruled out for the season finale. That puts Samuel, who already has 28 targets and 12 carries over the last four games, in a great spot for an increased workload.
While running the football doesn’t come with great optimism against the Saints, Samuel will certainly get more trick-play and gadget-type runs. Pretty much every prop-bet opportunity is on the board for him on Sunday.
