The first Sunday of NFL action was about as wild as it could possibly get. Heavy favorites like the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles fell, while improbable wins were pulled out everywhere else around the league.
In the Monday Night Football Week 1 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Giants, there are a ton of talented skill-players on the field. With that, there are plenty of interesting prop bets on these guys that can help us turn a profit.
Within this article, I’ll identify the best value in player prop bets for the Steelers-Giants matchup. As always, the odds used in this article come to us courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Saquon Barkley – Over 3.5 Receptions (-130)
The Giants will probably be playing from behind most of the night, giving Barkley the chance to have a ton of receptions. Even if Big Blue isn’t playing from behind, Barkley is going to have a large role in the offense. Sure, laying down -130 to win $100 isn’t exactly most people’s idea of a good time, but the anticipated game flow should play right into his favor.
Darius Slayton – Over 40.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
Pittsburgh’s defense is absolutely loaded with talent, so it makes sense for this unit to put the focus on guys like Barkley, WR Sterling Shepard and TE Evan Engram. WR Golden Tate is listed as questionable for tonight, and he’ll basically be a decoy at best out there. One way or the other, Slayton will probably be the guy that draws the least amount of attention. If the Giants are trailing most of the night, that means they’ll have to throw a lot more, giving Slayton a nice path to individual success tonight.
Eric Ebron – Score a TD Any Time During Game (+200)
The Steelers haven’t had a true TE red zone threat in quite some time — maybe Vance McDonald, but eh. Nevertheless, this is an exciting game for the Steelers with QB Ben Roethlisberger back in the lineup. As we all know, TEs against the Giants are basically money in the bank, and it’s quite possible that Big Ben wants to give Ebron a nice welcoming gift for coming to Pittsburgh with a trip to the end zone.
Side note: You can even take Ebron to score a TD and the Steelers to win for +260.
