Tuesday will be another fantastic day of NHL Playoffs action with four games on the slate. Two of the teams – the Chicago Blackhawks and Washington Capitals – will be facing elimination while each of the first two games today are series that are still up for grabs. Favorites went a perfect 4-0 yesterday, so let’s see what today has in store for us.
In this article, we’ll take a look at the odds and best value plays we can find from all NHL games. All of these lines are according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
Philadelphia Flyers at Montreal Canadiens (PHI leads series 2-1)
3:00 p.m. EST | Watch: NBCSN
Total: 5 goals | Over: -120 | Under: -103
PHI | Moneyline: -136 | Puck Line -1.5: +205
MTL | Moneyline: +117 | Puck Line +1.5: -250
Where’s the Money Going? (As of 12 p.m. EST today)
Moneyline: PHI, 62% of bets | MTL, 58% of money
Puck Line: PHI, 67% of bets | PHI, 90% of money
Total: Under, 68% of bets | Under, 88% of bets
Betting Pick: Under 5 goals (-103)
Sorry to be the fun police but I can’t do anything other than take the under in this series. Aside from a mental slip-up by the Flyers and Carter Hart in Game 2, the margin of error on defense just doesn’t exist. Carey Price is playing some of the best hockey of his career, posting a .953 save percentage, 1.40 goals-against average and two shutouts in the seven playoff games. Until we see something different, the under is the play.
Calgary Flames at Dallas Stars (Series tied 2-2)
5:30 p.m. EST | Watch: NBCSN
Total: 5.5 goals | Over: +116 | Under: -141
CGY | Moneyline: +110 | Puck Line +1.5: -250
DAL | Moneyline: -127 | Puck Line -1.5: +205
Where’s the Money Going? (As of 12 p.m. EST today)
Moneyline: 50/50% of bets | CGY, 70% of money
Puck Line: CGY, 64% of bets | CGY, 96% of money
Total: Over, 76% of bets | Under, 61% of money
Betting Pick: Stars Moneyline (-127)
In Game 4, we got pretty damn lucky with a Stars victory. One of the most convincing points in heading that direction in the first place was the fact they had the biggest moneyline number for either team in the series. Once again, Dallas has that honor today. It’s even more of a push in the right direction that the Stars crippled the Flames with that come-from-behind victory last game. Emotionally, it’ll be very difficult for Calgary to get back to normal.
Washington Capitals at New York Islanders (NYI leads series 3-0)
8:00 p.m. EST | Watch: NBCSN
Total: 5 goals | Over: -137 | Under: +114
WSH | Moneyline: +102 | Puck Line +1.5: -278
NYI | Moneyline: -120 | Puck Line -1.5: +225
Where’s the Money Going? (As of 12 p.m. EST today)
Moneyline: NYI, 59% of bets | NYI, 77% of money
Puck Line: 50/50% of bets | NYI, 94% of money
Total: Over, 65% of bets | Over, 65% of money
Betting Pick: Islanders Moneyline (-120)
What a change of direction we’ve seen in this series. At one point, the Capitals were expected to cruise in this series. But now, we’re looking at an overwhelming number of bets coming in on the Islanders to complete the sweep. This is certainly not what Washington had in mind for the playoffs, and it’s certainly a too-little too-late situation here. New York is ready for the opportunity to pounce and we’ll see that tonight.
Chicago Blackhawks at Vegas Golden Knights (VGK leads 3-1)
10:30 p.m. EST | Watch: NBCSN
Total: 6 goals | Over: +102 | Under: -124
CHI | Moneyline: +170 | Puck Line +1.5: -157
VGK | Moneyline: -200 | Puck Line -1.5: +132
Where’s the Money Going? (As of 12 p.m. EST today)
Moneyline: VGK, 72% of bets | CHI, 97% of money
Puck Line: VGK, 68% of bets | VGK, 99% of money
Total: 50/50% of bets | 50/50% of money
Betting Pick: Golden Knights Puck Line -1.5 (+132)
The Blackhawks had their fun in Game 4, and now it’s time for the Golden Knights to finish the series. No one else has a team total over three today, except for Vegas at 3.6 – which actually jumped up +0.4 from the opening 3.2. The Golden Knights still had 49 shots and 38 5-on-5 scoring chances in Game 4, further illustrating the point that they’re right on the brink of closing this series out.
