The Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics will do battle once again, starting a three-game series on Monday night. In the first series, which was the first one for each team this season, the A’s won three of the first four games. In addition, the A’s will look to continue their nine-game winning streak after sweeping the Houston Astros this weekend.
Tonight’s matchup of starting pitchers is Sean Manaea taking the mound for Oakland and Julio Teheran doing the same for LA. Each guy has been shaky at the onset, although, Teheran has only taken the mound once this season – it did not go well. Manaea has allowed 13 runs (11 earned) in only 12 1/3 innings of work.

Olson Rocking and Rolling
A’s first baseman Matt Olson has shaken off a cold start, with four of his five homers coming over the last five days. Olson is still hitting a putrid .164 this season, so that is another area of his game that could improve next.
Stassi Chasing Trout?
Believe it or not, yes. Angels catcher Max Stassi has four homers and 10 RBI, both of which are only one behind Mike Trout for the team lead. All four of Stassi’s homers have come against left-handed pitching, where he is also hitting .389 in 18 at-bats against southpaws.
Betting Picks
Over 9.5 runs (-110)
We have already seen the team totals increase for both teams (LAA: +0.3, OAK: +0.2) and that’s usually a good indication that runs will be scored. It also helps that both starting pitchers have been getting teed off on this season. While the Angels haven’t been great against left-handed pitching this season, ranking fifth-worst in wOBA (.264), Manaea has allowed at least four runs in all three of his starts – not making it out of the fifth inning in any.
