The eyes of the golf world will be squarely fixed on Augusta National Golf Club later this week as the 2022 Masters gets underway. Despite Tiger Woods taking up all the headlines, Jon Rahm is the betting favorite to claim a second career major tournament victory, sporting +1100 odds.
Recently toppled from his perch atop the Official World Golf Rankings by Scottie Scheffler (+1600), Rahm can expect stiff competition from a host of young stars poised for a breakthrough at Augusta. In addition, Woods’ return to tournament action for the first time since his a 2021 car accident has captured the attention of golf fans and sports bettors alike with Tiger’s odds to win the Masters shifting from +8000 to +5000 (and +4000 on some books) in the past few days.
Here are the 2022 Masters odds to win via BetMGM, including the favorites and Tiger.

2022 Masters Best Bets
Masters Outright Winner: Cameron Smith (+1600), available on BetMGM
After claiming the biggest payout in PGA Tour history with his victory at the Players Championship in March, Cameron Smith hunts for his first ever major title this weekend at Augusta.
With two victories in his past four Tour outings and four top-10 finishes so far this season, Smith has rocketed to No. 6 in the World Golf Rankings. An exceptional short game has been key to Smith’s recent success. In addition to leading the way in scoring average and birdie average, he sits among the leaders in approaches from inside 200 yards, and ranks second in putting from inside 10 feet.
More important is Smith’s steady track record at the Masters. The “mullet man” has finished among the top 10 in three of his past four Masters appearances, all amid inclement weather. While sun remains in the long-term forecast this weekend, any change in weather should be accompanied by additional value on a wager on the 28-year-old Australian.
Masters Best Bet: Cameron Smith (+1600), available on BetMGM
Masters Sleeper Pick: Tiger Woods (+5000), available on BetMGM
There is nothing that golf fans would like more than to see Tiger make a successful comeback this weekend. And while a return to regular appearances on the PGA Tour is highly unlikely, it’s tough to ignore the lengthy +5000 odds that Woods sports.
He has displayed steady form while joining forces with his son, Charlie, to claim second place at last December’s PNC Championship. Reports have also indicated that he did not falter while playing a practice round at Augusta National with Charlie and Justin Thomas this past weekend.
Woods’ familiarity with Augusta is a clear advantage for the 46-year-old, who has five Masters wins under his belt, as is his past success in returning from serious injury — something that previously culminated in his victory at the 2019 Masters.
While Woods is unlikely to be able compete with the big hitters in the field this weekend, it is unlikely he will have to. Yes, the course for this weekend’s tournament will top 7,500 yards in length for the first time in Masters history, but as Bryson Dechambeau (+4000) will certainly tell you, accuracy trumps distance at Augusta.
Let’s go with a bit of a sentimental pick here, and ride with Tiger at 50-to-1.
Masters Sleeper Pick: Tiger Woods (+5000), available on BetMGM
Masters Value Pick: Collin Morikawa (+2000), available on BetMGM
Considering Collin Morikawa’s recent performance, it’s tough to overlook the impressive value he offers as a +2000 bet to win the 2022 Masters. Morikawa arrives in Augusta having flashed consistent championship form in limited appearances so far this season, finishing among the top 10 in five of seven stroke play events.
The regular season leader on the FedExCup standings a year ago, Morikawa has finished among the top eight in four of his past six major tournament appearances, including a win at the 2020 PGA Championship. He was also the best in the game last year in approach shots from between 125 and 200 yards.
However, that success has not yet extended to his previous appearances at the Masters, where he turned in a career-best 18th-place finish last year. I’m betting he will improve on that in the 2022 edition of the tournament. So much so that I like Morikawa as my best value play near the top of the Masters odds board at +2000.
