Cleveland Indians (ML: -200) at Chicago White Sox – O/U: 9
Betting Pick: Under 8.5
Thursday, September 26th, 2019 – 8:10 p.m. EST
Starting Pitchers
CLE: Aaron Civale – R (3-3, 1.82 ERA/0.99 WHIP)
CHW: Dylan Cease – R (4-7, 5.79 ERA/1.55 WHIP)
Thursday’s MLB schedule has tons of important matchups on the slate that make for several interesting betting opportunities, but one of our favorite betting picks is the total going under in the game between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. Let’s dive into the facts and figures below, to learn why this is our top betting tip.
Betting Lines Analysis: Indians at White Sox
Bettors are convinced the Indians will finally get one in this series, as 78 percent of public bets/87 percent of money wagered is coming in on them. In addition, 53 percent of public bets/65 percent of money wagered is coming in on the under.
Indians Betting Form
So, will those Indians finally get a win in this series? That remains to be seen as they’ve dropped the first two games against the lowly White Sox while desperately needing to stay afloat in the AL Wild Card race. Not to mention, they close out the season against a tough Nationals team that has already punched their playoff ticket.
Tonight, they’ll send the rookie Aaron Civale to the mound in a crucial spot. He’s been fantastic this season with a sub-one WHIP and plenty of gaudy stats to go along with it. In this current series against the White Sox, the opposition has brought out the lumber. However, as we see in baseball all the time, teams will typically come back around to the mean, so we should definitely expect that from Chicago this evening.
White Sox Betting Form
On the flip side, we should see the Indians’ offense gain some steam in this game – but not too much. After all, Cleveland has only scored a total of three runs in the first two games of this series.
Dylan Cease has allowed one run in each of his last three starts, giving him a solid conclusion to the season. There were times when he would run into trouble, but it appears those days are behind him. Cease has proven to be a valuable asset for the White Sox as they play out the schedule and look to see what type of talent they have for the future. Look for him to officially close out the season, in his final start, and give the team plenty to be excited about heading into 2020.
Betting Pick: Under 8.5
As we mentioned at the top, we’ll see trends start to normalize in baseball. The first two games of this series went over the total, so we should expect to see the opposite tonight. After all, the Indians’ implied run total (IRT) dropped -0.4 and that’s usually a good sign that we’re heading in that direction.

Houston Astros (ML: -300) at Los Angeles Angels – O/U: 9.5
Betting Pick: Over 9.5
Thursday, September 26th, 2019 – 10:10 p.m. EST
Thursday’s MLB schedule sees the Houston Astros at the Los Angeles Angels. Our betting pick is the total going over in this game between the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels. Let’s dive into the facts and figures below, to learn why this is our top betting tip.
Starting Pitchers
HOU: Wade Miley – L (14-6, 3.91 ERA/1.33 WHIP)
LAA: Jaime Barria – R (4-10, 6.43 ERA/1.44 WHIP)
Betting Lines Analysis: Astros at Angels
In a surprising set of circumstances, we’ve seen 67 percent of public bets on the Astros/64 percent of money wagered coming in on the Angels. Additionally, 67 percent of public bets/73 percent of money wagered has been placed on the over.
Astros Betting Form
While most of the Astros’ regulars are expected to sit, we all know this is one of the deepest rosters in baseball. That was never more evident than when their everyday players went through a ton of injuries mid-season, yet still were able to keep churning out wins. However, we’re just looking for them to score runs tonight, and that is certainly achievable.
Since Houston will be in experimental mode, it figures they’d give Wade Miley another shot at starting a game before the postseason. The veteran lefty has been absolutely terrible, allowing a total of 18 runs in his last four starts – a span of 7 1/3 innings! Expect the Angels to have some fun with the bats tonight.
Angels Betting Form
The Angels have been in off-season mode for quite some time now, so this season-ending series serves as their postseason in a way. As we mentioned, they’ll have a fantastic matchup against Miley tonight, so expect them to have some fun on offense.
On the other hand, Jaime Barria is a guy that can give up some runs himself. In his last outing, Barria allowed four homers in 2 2/3 innings en route to eight hits and six runs on his box score. This is a guy that has gotten lucky for quite some time, but this lineup of eager youngsters won’t let him get away with that tonight.
Betting Tip: Over 9.5
Both of these starting pitchers are capable of getting lit up, and that’s exactly what’ll happen tonight. The Astros’ offense is rocking and rolling as they head into postseason play, giving us plenty of confidence that this total will indeed go over. While we do need some help from the Angels, we should get it with Miley on the mound.

Oakland Athletics (ML: -240) at Seattle Mariners – O/U: 9
Betting Pick: Athletics (1.5-run line: -138)
Thursday, September 26th, 2019 – 10:10 p.m. EST
Starting Pitchers
OAK: Sean Manaea – L (3-0, 1.14 ERA/0.80 WHIP)
SEA: Felix Hernandez – R (1-7, 6.51 ERA/1.52 WHIP)
Thursday’s MLB schedule sees the Oakland Athletics at the Seattle Mariners. Our betting pick for this match is the Oakland Athletics to convincingly beat the Seattle Mariners. Let’s dive into the facts and figures below, to learn why this is our top betting tip.
Betting Lines Analysis: Athletics at Mariners
Lots of bettors are backing the A’s tonight, with 83 percent of public bets/80 percent of money wagered to cover the run-line. Additionally, there 64 percent of public bets coming in on the over/64 percent of money wagered coming in on the under.
Athletics Betting Form
The A’s got a bit unlucky throughout last night’s game, but they did come away with a miraculous ninth-inning comeback against the Angels. That win was huge, considering the hold a slim lead for home-field advantage in the AL Wild Card Game – 0.5 games over the Rays and two games over the Indians.
Sean Manaea got his season started a lot later than everyone but the Athletics are certainly glad he came back to make an impact. The left-handed beast has yet to allow more than two runs in any of his four starts this season and has 25 strikeouts over a span of 23 2/3 innings.
Tonight’s matchup has tons of sentiment for the Mariners, but the Athletics aren’t in that mode right now. Look for them to spoil the party and possibly increase their lead in the Wild Card race.
Mariners Betting Form
This will likely be the last time that Felix Hernandez toes the rubber at Safeco Field in Seattle, so expect the King’s Court to be at an all-time level of rowdy for this one. However, this isn’t the same King Felix these fans have been used to over the years. In his last start, Hernandez allowed five runs in five innings against the lowly Orioles — Three starts ago, he allowed 11 runs (seven earned) in two innings against the Astros.
It’d be nice if King Felix could make his final Safeco Field start against a lesser opponent, but the A’s have places to be going. Unfortunately, this won’t be the sendoff that Mariners’ fans hoped for.
Betting Pick: Athletics (1.5-run line: -138)
Once again, the Athletics desperately need every single game as they head towards the postseason. Look for them to hop on King Felix early and take the first game of this series easily.
