Two unfamiliar teams, the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns, do battle on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Our betting pick is the Rams to cover the -3.5 spread. In this article, we’ll study the odds, consider the Browns and Rams’ betting form and why we’re betting on LA.
Los Angeles Rams (-3) at Cleveland Browns – O/U: 47.5
Time: Sunday 22nd September 8:20 p.m. EST
Betting Pick: Rams -3
Odds Analysis: Rams at Browns
The Rams opened as -1.5 favorites but have since risen to -3. A big reason is that 81 percent of public bets/84 percent of money wagered have gone in that direction. In addition, the total opened at 51 but has since plummeted down to 47.5. We’ve seen the under get 67 percent of public bets/88 percent of money wagered on the under in this one.
Rams Betting Form
Right now, you can make the argument that the Rams are the most well-rounded team in football after two games. We’ve seen this team play at a high level for a little over two years now and there are no signs of slowing down.
The big advantage here for the Rams is the coaching on both sides. Head coach Sean McVay is one of the best in the business, while Freddy Kitchens is in his third game under this title. Knowing what we know now, it’s somewhat telling that a physical Titans team absolutely dominated the Browns in Week 1. The Rams are much more well-equipped on personnel and football intelligence, so look for that to play a huge part.
Also, the Browns have a ton of injuries they’re dealing with in the secondary. Look for that talented trio of wide receivers to put on a show against a battered defensive unit.
Browns Betting Form
The Browns looked great on Monday Night Football, albeit against a Jets’ team that has fallen apart after two weeks. Sunday’s matchup against the Rams is certainly one that’ll be more difficult, and you have to wonder if the Browns will be up for the challenge.
Cleveland’s offensive line is struggling early, and now they’ll have to deal with the best defensive tackle we’ve seen in quite some time – possibly, ever. DT Aaron Donald has yet to register a sack, so you know he’s chomping at the bit for this favorable matchup. We’re not sure how the Browns will deal with Donald, but if they don’t, it’ll be awfully hard to get the ball to their talented skill-players.
Betting Pick: Rams -3
Typically, you like to go against the public when they’re heavily on one side of the action. However, this is a matchup that is too good to pass on. With all of the injuries and offensive line issues the Browns are dealing with, look for the Rams to roll easily in this one.
