The NHL schedule is loaded with 11 games on tonight’s slate, and there’s plenty of action to go around! In this article, I will provide my top three hockey picks tonight to make a maximum profit on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.
The three games being discussed tonight are the Toronto Maple Leafs at New Jersey Devils, Florida Panthers at New York Rangers & Washington Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins. Let’s dive right in and see where the value is tonight.
Our Favorite NHL Picks Today (2/1/22)
Toronto Maple Leafs at New Jersey Devils
NHL Pick: Maple Leafs -1.5 (+105)
This will be the back-end of a home-home series between the Maple Leafs and Devils. Last night, Toronto got the 6-4 victory at home, and now head back to the states for tonight’s battle.
I typically like to take the team that lost the front-end of the home-home set to storm back and take the following game. However, I just can’t do that since the Devils are one of the worst teams in the NHL. New Jersey’s goaltending situation is particularly dire, as its No. 1 and 2 goalies are out with long-term injuries. Three of the Maple Leafs’ last four wins have come by 2+ goals.
Florida Panthers at New York Rangers
NHL Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-105)
Speaking of playing last night, the Panthers got themselves an 8-4 win over the Blue Jackets in Columbus. With that being said, I believe the Rangers will take advantage offensively and it doesn’t take much for the Panthers to get going offensively. Basically, they can fall out of bed and score goals – it’s that simple.
Although we’re getting an inflated total of 6.5 goals, it should be easy enough for these teams to exceed it. With Florida on the back-end of a back-to-back set, that should make its defense sluggish enough for the Rangers’ offense to take advantage.
Washington Capitals at Pittsburgh Penguins
NHL Pick: Capitals ML (+135)
The Penguins are starting to slip a bit with three straight losses heading into tonight’s game. Meanwhile, the Capitals are coming off a convincing 5-0 win in Dallas the other night. This could be the ideal time for the underdog Capitals to take it to the Penguins tonight.
The two teams have split the season series, as the Caps got the 6-1 win before the Pens came roaring back to win 4-2 in their last meeting. Looking at the betting landscape, Washington is getting nearly 65% of the bets/money, and I would have to agree with the people here.
