Welcome back to another preview of the best NBA prop bets on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. In this article, I will identify my best NBA player props tonight to make a maximum profit and get us some more money to get going this week.
Tonight, we will look at the only two games on the slate — Minnesota Timberwolves at New York Knicks & Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors — and see who is showing the best value in the NBA player prop bets markets.
Best NBA Player Props Today (1/18/22)
Minnesota Timberwolves at New York Knicks
NBA Player Prop: Karl-Anthony Towns – Over 1.5 Blocks (+165)
Towns has already topped this mark in each of his last two games, and in five of his last seven. It’s crazy to be getting these odds on one of the premier shot blockers in the NBA.
Tonight’s matchup against the Knicks is one that should draw a few shots down in the paint. There is a little bit of narrative here, as Towns is from neighboring New Jersey and there are always quite a few KAT supporters in the crowd for these games and that should give him some extra hype.
NBA Player Prop: RJ Barrett – Over 2.5 Made 3-Pointers (+125)
We’re getting fabulous odds on Barrett to knock down three 3-pointers tonight. While he has failed to exceed this number of 2.5 made 3-pointers in each of his last two games, Barrett was able to do it in each of his previous three games.
Minnesota’s defense has been much better this season, as we’re seeing it with the 10th-best defensive efficiency in the NBA. If things are going to clog up in the paint down low, that means Barrett should be able to free himself from behind the arc.
Detroit Pistons at Golden State Warriors
NBA Player Prop: Trey Lyles – Over 11.5 Points (-110)
Lyles has been getting more playing time here over the last few games, and we’re seeing his scoring elevate as a result. In his last two games, Lyles and point totals of 18 and 21, and the latter came in only 19 minutes of work because of the blowout.
Tonight’s matchup against the Warriors is one where the Pistons will certainly need Lyles’ versatility. It’s worth noting that he has exceeded tonight’s mark of 11.5 points in four of the last five games.
NBA Player Prop: Klay Thompson – Over 15.5 Points (-105)
Thompson has played sparingly in his four games since returning from his lengthy absence. In his last game, Thompson played 23 minutes, which is his most time on the floor in his young season.
If Klay was going to get going tonight, he certainly has the right opponent to do so. The Pistons are allowing the second-best field goal percentage to opposing teams. With Thompson already taking as many as eight 3-point shots in a game, it’s a matter of time before a lot of those start falling.
