There are only three games on the NHL schedule tonight, so I’ll talk about them all! Lately, we haven’t been getting too many matchups each night because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but we’re not short of NHL picks today.
In this article, I will provide my top three hockey picks tonight to make a maximum profit on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. The three games on the slate tonight are Montreal Canadiens at Boston Bruins, Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars & Toronto Maple Leafs at Arizona Coyotes.

Montreal Canadiens at Boston Bruins

NHL Pick: Bruins -1.5 (-135)
The Bruins are in much better shape of late, winning five of the last six games while the Canadiens have lost 10 of their last 11. In fact, Montreal hasn’t even played a game since Jan. 1 because of the COVID-19 protocols within the team. Some would say that’s a good thing, having that much rest, but not for a team that can’t get out of its own way.
The Canadiens are 2-13-3 on the road this season. Look for those struggles to continue against a very strong Bruins team. There are huge odds on the puck line for a good reason. Boston won the earlier meeting this season 5-2.
Seattle Kraken at Dallas Stars
SEA: +170
DAL: -200
NHL Pick: Over 5.5 Goals (-125)
All these games have some sort of blowout potential tonight, but the Kraken may have the best chance to avoid that. After all, they do have the best odds of any underdog. Albeit, the odds would not be that great on a random night with plenty of games on the slate; we probably wouldn’t even think of this one.
My top pick on the game comes to us from the total, as I’ll be taking the over. Kraken games are tied for the most times going over the total (23), along with the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights- both of those games actually went over the total last night. Seattle has allowed at least four goals in four of their last five contests while Dallas has at least three goals in four of the last five games. This is a good opportunity for the Stars to have a big night offensively.
Toronto Maple Leafs at Arizona Coyotes
NHL Pick: Over 6 Goals (-120)
I’ll hop on board the over train once again as it pulls into Arizona tonight. Toronto just played a tough overtime game in Vegas last night. I would imagine its defense won’t be up to par, even against a lesser team like the one it’ll see tonight.
The Maple Leafs should be able to score goals against the Coyotes with their hands tied behind their backs. In fact, Toronto has scored four goals or more in each of their last six games, with four of those going for five or more. It’s really a question of whether Arizona can contribute to the scoring, and I believe it will since its opponents played last night.
