Orlando Magic at Atlanta Hawks
Player Prop Pick: John Collins – Under 9.5 Rebounds (-104)
Collins and the Hawks will finally return to the court after a four-day hiatus due to COVID protocols with opponents. The rest is certainly a welcomed one for Atlanta, which has lost three of the last four games and five of the last seven.
Luckily, the Hawks have an easy matchup tonight against the Magic, who they have defeated four straight times by double-digits. When the teams faced last week, Collins had 10 rebounds, and that’s typically been where he’s maxed out at. With this game taking place in Atlanta, we should expect the Hawks to win easily – and that would probably keep Collins on the bench late in this one.
Houston Rockets at Milwaukee Bucks
Player Prop Pick: Jrue Holiday – Under 7.5 Assists (-114)
Holiday is a guy that I write about often in this space, mainly because his assist prop number is usually in a good range to take the unders. Although he owns a game with 14 helpers over the last week, Holiday has failed to post 8+ assists in all but three of his games in the month of December.
Tonight’s matchup against the Rockets is one of the easier ones on the board. We should probably expect Holiday to get fewer minutes in the end with the threat of a blowout on the horizon. Oddly enough, Holiday’s most likely outcome on assists in recent games has been seven or eight. Of course, the oddsmakers would have the number right on the dot.
Los Angeles Clippers at Sacramento Kings
Player Prop Pick: Harrison Barnes – Over 18.5 Points (+100)
The Kings will be without star point guard DeAndre Fox, who is one of the team’s leading scorers. Because of his absence, Barnes will need to take on more of a responsibility in scoring, especially against a tough Clippers squad.
With LA in town, that means the big bodies are coming. Richaun Holmes is already listed as questionable, already giving Barnes a path to more minutes. As a lengthy player with versatility, Barnes would slide into the 4-spot with Holmes should he not be able to go. In any event, Barnes will get plenty of minutes – and shot attempts, as a result.
