With the NHL schedule being dismantled by the Omicron variant of COVID-19, we’re only down to one game again for Tuesday night’s schedule. In this matchup, we’ll see the Tampa Bay Lightning at Vegas Golden Knights at 10 p.m. EST.
In this article, I will provide my top three hockey picks tonight to make a maximum profit.
Our Favorite NHL Picks Today (12/21/21)
Tampa Bay Lightning at Vegas Golden Knights
TB: -105
VGK: -125
Vegas Golden Knights ML (-125)
The Golden Knights have won five straight games and eight of the last nine. After a sluggish start to the season, Vegas has been riding its fabulous offense to victory. In fact, this squad hasn’t scored fewer than three goals in a game since Nov. 27.
While the two-time defending champion Lightning is a worthy opponent, with seven wins in their last eight games, this is certainly their biggest test of the season. The game could go either way, but I would give the Golden Knights the advantage at home, where they have one of the most electric crowds in the NHL.
Over 5.5 Goals (-125)
There is plenty of offense to go around on both sides, so I don’t see there being too much of a problem to score tonight. Keep in mind, this is the only game on TV before the teams hit the break. I would expect the atmosphere to be very free-wheeling with a lot of speed going on. These are two of the best teams in the NHL, so it’s almost like they owe it to the league to send everyone into Christmas with good spirits.
Over 1.5 Goals (-120)
Pacioretty hasn’t lit the lamp in each of the last three games, but this is the marquee matchup in the NHL tonight and you would expect the best player on the ice to show up. Let’s not forget, Pacioretty scored in the first seven games to start the month of December. He knows how to do it, but will the Lightning do what they do?
