Tuesday night’s NHL schedule is a loaded one with 13 games for your viewing pleasure. For my NHL picks today, I will focus my attention on the following games: Vegas Golden Knights at Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres at Winnipeg Jets & New York Rangers at Colorado Avalanche.
In this article, I will provide my top three hockey picks tonight to make a maximum profit.
Our Favorite NHL Picks Today (12/14/21)
Vegas Golden Knights at Boston Bruins – TOTAL: 6
VGK: +115
BOS: -120
I have personally watched each of the last three Golden Knights’ games, and I’m quite impressed with this team recently. On Friday night, they did lose to a lowly Philadelphia Flyers team but put offensive pressure on throughout the night.
The Bruins will be coming back home finally after a nearly week-long Western Canada road trip. This is a tough situation for any team after returning home, so I do believe the Vegas Knights can take advantage of a weary Bruins squad.
Pick: Golden Knights ML (+115)
Buffalo Sabres at Winnipeg Jets – TOTAL: 5.5
BUF: +230
WPG: -250
I’m going to take a huge chance on the 8-15-4 Sabres tonight, who are an even worse 2-7-2 away from Buffalo. So, why am I taking this massive leap?
The Sabres have lost their last three games by a combined four games, meaning that they’re not far off from their first win in eight tries. Meanwhile, the Jets have lost two of their last three games and find themselves back home after a couple of road games. Buffalo will be playing its first game of a road trip, and sometimes getting away from home is a common cure.
Pick: Sabres ML (+230)
New York Rangers at Colorado Avalanche – TOTAL: 6
NYR: +170
COL: -195
When the Avalanche and Rangers met six days ago, it quickly turned into a 10-goal shootout won by the Avalanche 7-3. However, tonight’s matchup could be much different as the teams have seen each other recently and would know what to expect from the other offensively. It’s worth noting that there is sharp money that came in on the total going under 6.5 goals, which eventually moved the total down to 6.0.
The Rangers have actually played two low-scoring games since the loss to the Avalanche. Over the last few seasons, New York has been much more of a defensive-minded team and knows how to play this style of hockey. When you have a great offense like Colorado coming down the ice at you, it certainly helps to have Alexandar Georgiev, who is performing well in net for the injured Igor Shesterkin.
Pick: Under 6 Goals (-110)
