Tuesday night’s NHL schedule is a loaded one with 10 games for your viewing pleasure. For my NHL picks today, there will be a focus on betting opportunities in New York Islanders at Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning at Montreal Canadiens & Minnesota Wild at Edmonton Oilers.
In this article, I will provide my top three hockey picks tonight to make a maximum profit.
Our Favorite NHL Picks Today (12/7/21)
New York Islanders at Ottawa Senators
I had the Senators win in yesterday’s article against the Devils – hell, it was even the cover photo! However, things will be different as I’m backing the Islanders – yes, those same Islanders that have lost 11 straight games. So, why would they ever be favored by this much against a Senators team that has won three straight?
Perhaps, the answer lies in the fact that this will be the Senators’ second game in as many nights, and it’s also a stretch of three games in four days and four in six. In all honesty, there’s not a lot of boxes the Islanders are checking off nowadays, but all of their last three losses have either come in overtime or the shootout.
Pick: Islanders ML (-145)
Tampa Bay Lightning at Montreal Canadiens
This is a huge mismatch of talent as the 15-5-4 Lightning faces the 6-17-3 Canadiens. In fact, Tampa Bay is 7-2-2 on the road this season while Montreal is only 4-8-1 at home. Things have been trending in the Lightning’s favor with three straight wins while the Canadiens have lost three straight.
Because the Lightning is such a huge favorite on the moneyline (-205), I’ll have faith they can beat down a subpar team on their home ice. Tampa was cold-blooded last game against Philly, beating them 7-1 on their home ice and getting their head coach fired in the process. Look for the Bolts to win this one easily.
Pick: Lightning -1.5 (+130)
Minnesota Wild at Edmonton Oilers
I like a lot of action in tonight’s Oilers-Wild matchup, thus getting us plenty of goals in the process. Let’s start with Minnesota, who has won six straight games with a total of 28 goals in that span. That alone should have us running to the window to the bet the over, but let’s not forget that Edmonton is the top-scoring team in the NHL. Although these last two games didn’t go so well, the Oilers have Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl who can get it going at a moment’s notice.
The Wild have actually hit the second-most overs (16) in the NHL this season. Not to mention, the Oilers aren’t far behind with 14.
Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-110)
