Two of the NFL’s most historic franchises get together to close out Week 9, as the Chicago Bears face the Pittsburgh Steelers for Monday Night Football.
Over the last three games, the two teams could not be heading in more different directions; the Steelers have won three straight games while the Bears have dropped three in a row.
In this article, I will identify the top three NFL picks from tonight’s Bears at Steelers game. So, let’s dive right in and see what they are.
Bears at Steelers – Monday Night Football Picks
Under 40 Points (-110)
When a total is this low, it’s usually there for a reason. Both teams are averaging under 20 points per game this season, so we should expect to see a very slow-paced game in this one. Between the two quarterbacks (Ben Roethlisberger and Justin Fields) they have one game with two TD passes the entire season. The Steelers’ defense will do most of the heavy lifting in keeping this total under 40 points.
Diontae Johnson – Over 70.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Johnson has gone for 70+ receiving yards in each of his last five games as the Steelers offense starts to remember who their top weapon is. Making matters even more optimistic, he has at least 10 targets in all but one game – Johnson left that game early via injury. This is clearly the top receiver in Pittsburgh’s offense, which already features quite a bit of weapons. Over the Bears’ last four games, they have allowed three of the highest receiving yardage totals of the season.
Justin Fields – Under 0.5 Touchdown Passes (+165)
As I mentioned in the first bet, throwing touchdowns hasn’t exactly been Fields’ forte just yet in the NFL. The former Ohio State standout only has three TD passes compared to seven interceptions in six games this season. Part of my love for this bet doesn’t just come from those numbers, but Fields still has the ability to score with his legs. With those great plus-odds staring me in the face, I will be taking the under in this spot.
