QB: Lamar Jackson, $8200
On the heels of an electric Monday Night Football showing, Jackson is now 2nd in QB scoring on the year. This week, he will be tasked with keeping pace with Justin Herbert and the electric Chargers offense. With the spread at -3 and the total over 51, this is likely to be a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair—and thus a matchup we should feature liberally in our fantasy lineups.
RB: Austin Ekeler, $8400
With that being said, let’s also add the uber-consistent Las Angeles rusher-receiver extraordinaire. On the note of consistency, Ekeler has recorded over 100 yards in each of his last four games, and is likely in line for another heavy workload as the Chargers attempt to come away with a win in Baltimore.
RB: Darrel Williams, $5200
With Clyde Edwards-Helaire on IR, we can now get the lead back of a Patrick Mahomes offense for just $5200. With a favorable matchup against Washington, Williams is a great cash-game value play.
WR: Stefon Diggs, $7600
Thanks to a combination of blowout games and bad weather, Diggs has only scored 11.5 PPG through 5 weeks. Fortunately, however, the opportunity remains there, as Diggs is currently 9th in the NFL in targets despite those circumstances. Against a hapless Titans defense, Diggs is in a perfect ‘get-right’ matchup.
WR: Michael Pittman Jr., $5800
Speaking of opportunity, Pittman has gotten a ton of it as well. Since Week 2, he has accrued an astounding 39 targets, with many of them being valuable deep shots. Seemingly emerging as Carson Wentz’s favorite target, we need to take advantage of this low price tag before it’s gone.
WR: Odell Beckham Jr., $6000
In order to accommodate some of our other choices, we have to again search the bargain bin at receiver, and that leaves us with Beckham. The former Giants star hasn’t been great this year—or with the Browns at all, really—but that could change in a hurry. Like our other two receivers Beckham has been getting the looks, with 16 air-yard-filled targets in his first two games before putting together a dud in Week 5; unfortunately, however, he just hasn’t been able to convert. At home in a potential shootout against Arizona, Beckham gets one more shot in our lineups before we move on—after all, he is still the only healthy established WR on that team.
TE: Mark Andrews, $6300
Andrews offers us everything we could’ve hoped for at our TE spot—opportunity, productivity, (low) price, and a positive correlation with our QB. After his Monday Night Football blowup game, Andrews now sits 1st in TE receiving yards, but only 2nd in touchdowns, suggesting further positive regression could be on its way.
FLEX: DeAndre Hopkins, $7700
Finally, at flex we’re building a little bit of a correlation play with Beckham. Like Beckham, Hopkins is another former fantasy WR1 that hasn’t performed to expectations this year; unlike Beckham, however, he has produced by the bushel as recently as last season. If this game becomes a shootout like it could, that rising tide could lift both Beckham’s and Hopkins’ boats—and, by extension, ours as well.
DEF: Indianapolis Colts, $4700
This one isn’t a very difficult choice. As 10-point home favorites against Houston in a game with the lowest over-under, the upside simply outweighs the downside.
