Our first MLB Parlay of the Day was a big success, as the three National League East teams we included in the three-leg moneyline parlay came through for us at +287 odds. That was a great example of why parlay betting can prove so fruitful — by making smart, informed selections to create plus-money value.
Let’s see if we can do it again with today’s MLB Parlay of the Day for April 11.
MLB Parlay of the Day
3-Game Parlay: Brewers vs. Orioles, Mariners vs. Twins, Padres vs. Giants
Milwaukee Brewers (-160) vs. Baltimore Orioles, 3:05 p.m.
Losing two out of three to the Chicago Cubs likely isn’t what the Milwaukee Brewers had in mind to start their season. But they get the right opponent to potentially make up for it in the 0-3 Baltimore Orioles, a team that could lead the league in losses this season. The Orioles were outscored 15-4 in three games against the Tampa Bay Rays in their opening series, and Milwaukee’s bats could break out today against Baltimore starter Bruce Zimmermann. The lefty allowed a .291 batting average to opponents with a 5.04 ERA in 14 appearances last season.
For the Brewers, starter Adrian Houser was effective in 2021, with a 10-6 record and a 3.22 ERA over a span of 142.1 innings. Houser also recorded seven of his 10 wins in his 13 road starts last season. And you guessed it, the Brewers are on the road here. I like the Brewers to get back on track with a win this afternoon.
Seattle Mariners (+105) vs. Minnesota Twins, 7:40 p.m.
Minnesota is the favorite here, coming off a 10-4 win over the Mariners on Sunday where Twins hitters smacked six home runs. But it might not be so easy to get the ball out of Target Field today. Mariners starter Chris Flexen closed out the 2021 season very well, holding opponents to three runs or less in eight of his final 10 starts. Flexen also isn’t known for giving up home runs, as he only allowed 19 round trippers in 179.2 innings last season.
With Minnesota’s offense being so dependent on the big fly right now, I like the Mariners as an underdog with a chance to notch their third win in this four-game series.
San Diego Padres vs. San Fransisco Giants Over 8.5 (+105), 9:45 p.m.
The San Diego Padres send Nick Martinez to the mound, and if his performances with the Texas Rangers from 2014-17 is any indication (a career 4.77 ERA), we’re likely to see some runs put up against him. Granted, Martinez hasn’t pitched in the Majors since 2017, and he recorded a 1.62 ERA in Japan last season, but Japanese league hitters just aren’t quite the same caliber as MLB hitters.
There’s another big reason the over makes sense as the play here — the windy conditions on the San Francisco Bay. The wind is expected to blow at around 25 miles per hour toward the water in right field. That’s got the potential to turn outs into doubles and turn doubles into home runs.
With both Martinez and Giants starter Alex Wood being typical fly ball pitchers, the wind will likely come into play here and help us reach at least nine runs scored.
