After the uncertainty leading up to the 2022 MLB season, there’s no better time than now to get in some futures bets for the World Series.
While every team has a clean slate, there are some clear favorites that are going for the title and others that are clearly rebuilding.
Who Is the World Series Odds Favorite on 2022 MLB Opening Day?
The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best Opening Day odds to win the 2022 World Series.
At +500, the Dodgers are the consensus favorite to win the title. The team added Freddie Freeman this offseason to an already stacked lineup that won the World Series in 2020, so it’s no wonder they’re the World Series favorite in 2022.
Who Won the 2021 World Series?
Freeman and the Atlanta Braves won the 2021 World Series. The Braves opened with +1000 odds, but went as high as +5000 after the Ronald Acuna injury.
This would make you think that at least half of the league is live to win the 2022 World Series.

World Series 2022 Bets and Predictions
Keep in mind that MLB has expanded the playoffs to 12 teams for the 2022 season. This increases the chances of a team with longer odds sneaking in and winning the World Series by getting hot at the right time. That means there’s a lot more value on a longshot in a favorable division than there might otherwise be.
Knowing the playoff pool is larger this season, here are my top MLB futures plays to win the 2022 World Series.
World Series Best Bet: Chicago White Sox, +1100 (available at Unibet)
Remember, we’re not looking for the best MLB team, we’re looking for the right one. In terms of talent, the Chicago White Sox roster is certainly toward the top. They’re also undoubtedly in one of the best situations in baseball. This combination is why the White Sox are my best bet to win the 2022 World Series.
First, the White Sox play in a division that they are almost certain to win. They’re the heavy betting favorite to end the season atop the AL Central standings with a stacked lineup and pitching rotation. The Detroit Tigers look to still be a year or two away, and I’m not sold on the Minnesota Twins as contenders. The Cleveland Guardians and Kansas City Royals are in rebuild mode and likely to bring up the rear in the division. This puts the White Sox in a prime position to make the 2022 MLB playoffs, the first step to win the World Series.
Plus, the White Sox roster has everything it needs to make a World Series run. With Lucas Giolito and Lance Lynn atop the rotation, the White Sox pitching staff ranked second in the American League with a 3.73 ERA last season. With Michael Kopech joining the rotation in 2022, Chicago could have the best pitching in the American League this season. The White Sox lineup isn’t hurting for production either, as it reads like one in an All-Star game — Tim Anderson, Jose Abreu and Yoan Moncada hold down the infield with Luis Robert, Eloy Jimenez and A.J. Pollack roaming the outfield.
In short, this team is very likely to grab one of the two byes gifted to a division winner and has the talent to cash in when they get to October. The White Sox at +1200 is my World Series best bet for the 2022 season.
World Series Value Pick: Milwaukee Brewers, +1600 (available at PointsBet)
Over on the senior circuit, the Milwaukee Brewers face a similar situation to the White Sox. They’ve got a talented roster and very little competition for supremacy in the NL Central division. Milwaukee will be pushed by the St. Louis Cardinals for the NL Central title, but the rest of the division is likely to struggle.
And that means that Milwaukee should pile up wins in the 57 games it will play against the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates. This should set the Brewers up for success in the 2022 season. Milwaukee went 39-18 against the bottom three NL Central teams last year, and with the Reds expected to be much worse this season, the Brewers could end up with 95-plus wins simply by beating up its division foes.
Another reason to take the Brewers is that the team has the pitching to shine in the playoffs. A rotation led by Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff and Freddy Peralta is good enough to give Milwaukee a chance against anyone in a seven-game series, even the Dodgers. The Brewers make a great value play at +1600 to win the 2022 World Series.
World Series Longshot: Philadelphia Phillies, +3300 (available at PointsBet)
If you believe in the Philadelphia Phillies, you’ll want to buy in on them now. The price has already dropped since the team added Nick Castellanos and Kyle Schwarber in recent weeks, and the Phillies will have to get through the defending World Series champion Braves and the free-spending New York Mets to win the NL East.
But the Phillies can mash and their rotation boasts two elite starters in Zack Wheeler and Aaron Nola. Plus, they’ve still got reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper and three-time All-Star J.T. Realmuto to round out the meat of a deep lineup.
They may have to fix their fielding issues from last season, but +3300 World Series odds is worth the gamble given the Phillies’ willingness to spend and upgrade at the trade deadline.
