Parlay
bets are a great way to switch up your sports betting and combine a few betting
picks together to bump up your payout. In this article, we’ll provide you with
our top NBA parlay bets for Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020. We study the odds, the
betting lines, and the teams, and to give you our recommended parlay bets.
The
following three NBA parlay picks offer
a low, medium, or high payout. Our low payout parlays try to minimize risk and
odds start near +200 or higher in an effort to double our stake. Likewise, our
medium and high payout parlays offer higher payouts with higher odds, but
higher odds mean a smaller chance of winning.
In
other words, are you after the big payout or more consistent wins?

Low-Risk Parlay Wager
Parlay Odds
$20 risk: $30.07 payout (+162 odds)
This NBA parlay bet focuses on winning your stake back and
then some. This parlay is for the bettor who prefers low risk/low yield parlay
bets. Remember the saying “slow and steady wins the race?” Well, this parlay
bet won’t set the world alight, but it’s your best chance of beating the NJ
sportsbooks.
Chicago Bulls at New Orleans Pelicans – Over 224.5
8:00 p.m. EST
As we just saw in the Pelicans’ last game, the absence of Jrue
Holiday is one that hurts deeply. However, we’re not looking to make a play on
a side in this one – rather, the total. That absence of Holiday makes the
Pelicans’ defense even worse than it already is. The total has gone over in
three of the last four Bulls’ games while the same has happened in each of the
last four Pelicans’ games.
New York Knicks at Utah Jazz ML (-670)
9:00 p.m. EST
The Jazz is one of the best teams in basketball, especially when playing at home in front of their home crowd. For a road team like the Knicks, coming into Salt Lake City will not pay huge dividends. Utah has won 11 of its last 12 games and a matchup against New York won’t deter this team in any way. Even without Mike Conley, the Jazz has been solid in every aspect of their game. Look for Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert to take the lead and guide their team to victory.
Milwaukee Bucks ML (-1050) at Golden State Warriors
10:00 p.m. EST
This is a gorgeous get-right spot for the Bucks, who lost
their last game outright in San Antonio. The Warriors are basically mailing in
the rest of the season and things could be a lot worse with D’Angelo Russell
out for this game. The Bucks are much more talented than the Warriors in this
matchup, so look for them to take a dominating lead early and never look back.
Medium-Risk NBA Parlay Bet
Parlay Odds
$20 risk: $102.82 payout (+514 odds)
This parlay bet focuses on winning your stake back and then
some. This NBA parlay bet is for the bettor who prefers an evenly balanced
payout/risk ratio. The bettor who wants a decent payout, but is not reckless
with their parlay picks.
Miami Heat at Indiana Pacers – Under 210.5
7:00 p.m. EST
Both teams are tied for having the sixth-slowest pace in the
NBA. We’re not expecting either side to necessarily jump out to a huge lead or
score a ton of points. Look for this to be a tight affair all the way
throughout the game and defense to play a major factor. Each team’s best player,
Domantas Sabonis and Jimmy Butler, isn’t at full health and that could certainly
have an impact on the game.
Toronto Raptors ML (-155) at Charlotte Hornets
7:00 p.m. EST
The Raptors have only been favored twice over the last seven
games, so this is certainly quite the surprise. It’s even more surprising that
they’re missing Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Norman Powell and Marc Gasol –
definitely a tall order to overcome. Considering the Raptors are missing all
these players, it’s important to note they’re still favored in this game. Even with
all of those missing pieces, the oddsmakers don’t have any type of faith in the
Hornets. It’s not a lot of money to lay on the Raptors moneyline, so let’s take
advantage of it.
Houston Rockets at Atlanta Hawks – Over 235
7:30 p.m. EST
Both of these teams have no idea how to play defense. In
fact, when the two matched up in late November a total of 269 points were scored
– 158 were scored by the Rockets. Even though Russell Westbrook won’t play, James
Harden can certainly carry the Rockets to a hefty total. Harden is one of the
best players in the NBA and this one-on-one matchup against Trae Young will be
front and center. Houston has the second-best offensive efficiency rating in
the NBA and that’ll get Atlanta’s offense moving in the right direction.
Big-Payout NBA Parlay Bet
Parlay Odds
$20 risk: $146.20 (+735 odds)
This NBA parlay bet focuses on maximizing your winnings.
This NBA parlay bet is for the bettor who is looking for the big payout from the
NJ sportsbooks. The higher odds mean beats but we’re shooting for the stars
here! No one ever bragged they won $10 and as such, so this is for the bettor
looking for the big parlay win.
Washington Wizards at Orlando Magic – Under 220.5
7:00 p.m. EST
The Magic typically don’t play a lot of up-tempo games and
they can definitely thwart the Wizards into this type of game. When the Magic
play at home, they tend to play some of the best defense of any team in the
NBA. For a lot of recreational bettors, they’ll see the Wizards name and assume
the total will go over. However, this is not a Magic team that is going to bite
on this notion. Look for Orlando to take care of business defensively and keep
this one to a low score.
San Antonio Spurs (+6.5) at Boston Celtics
7:00 p.m. EST
The Spurs are coming off their biggest win of the season, a
22-point whooping of the Bucks. But this isn’t a new rise of fame for San Antonio;
this is a team playing its best ball of the season. In fact, the Spurs have covered
the spread in five of their last seven games. Look for them to continue this bout
of success, especially if Kemba Walker can give it a go for the Celtics.
Denver Nuggets ML (+130) at Dallas Mavericks
7:30 p.m. EST
Sometimes you see a line that looks suspicious, and this is
certainly one of those times. We believe the Nuggets are a better team, and
they’re also more healthy at the current time. Although the Nuggets are on the
road, they have the talent to win this game outright and do it convincingly. Jamal
Murray and Nikola Jokic will be too much for the Mavericks to handle and that
will be the key to victory. The Mavericks will be without Kristaps Porzingis
and that hurts their chances in the matchup against Jokic. Look for them to
dominate down low and beat up the Mavs in that aspect of the game.
