This could very well be the end of the Nets seven-game losing streak. After all, they are a perfect 5-0 ATS/4-1 SU as a home underdog this season. That one outright loss did come against the Heat back on Dec. 1, but the Nets were leading late before collapsing. While Brooklyn may not be everyone’s favorite bet at the moment, Miami has gotten plastered in some recent road games. The Nets even have a perfect 6-0 record on Fridays this season.
9:00 p.m. EST – Charlotte Hornets at Utah Jazz (ML: -800) – Total: 212.5
The Jazz comes into this game having won seven straight and 12 of the last 13. While the Hornets can be pesky at times, this isn’t one of those games we should be worried about. For one, we’re taking the Jazz on the moneyline, and Utah is one of the toughest places to play in the NBA. Charlotte has only won once outright in eight tries as a double-digit underdog and it looks unlikely that it’ll happen in this spot. The Jazz are surprisingly playing better without Mike Conley with an 11-3 record in the games he has missed since Dec. 4. Guys like Donovan Mitchell and Emmanuel Mudiay have stepped up in his absence.
10:30 p.m. EST – Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Clippers (ML: -850)
This is the biggest mismatch of the night, so let’s not even worry
about the spread. The Clippers will take care of a Warriors team that is basically
hosting NBA tryouts on their roster at this point. Paul George won’t suit up for
this game because of a hamstring injury. That’s fine, the Clippers still have
Kawhi Leonard, Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell that will make quick work of
the Warriors.
Medium-Risk NBA Parlay Bet
Parlay Odds: +428
$20 risk: $85.60 payout
This parlay bet focuses on winning your stake back and then some. This NBA parlay bet is for the bettor who prefers an evenly balanced payout/risk ratio. The bettor who wants a decent payout, but is not reckless with their parlay picks.
7:15 p.m. EST – New Orleans Pelicans (-5.5) at New York Knicks
The Pelicans have been playing incredibly well over the last 10 games with a 7-3 SU/8-1-1 ATS record. Tonight, they’ll hit the road to face a Knicks team that is just returning home from a disastrous four-game West Coast road trip. Most teams will struggle in that first game back home, and the Knicks often struggle in any scenario. The Knicks will also be without their best player, Julius Randle, and we saw how that went in Utah the other night. Even with Jrue Holiday out for the Pelicans and Brandon Ingram playing with a jammed finger, it shouldn’t be a problem to cover this spread.
9:45 p.m. EST – Los Angeles Lakers (ML: +104) at Dallas Mavericks
If you’re wondering why the Mavericks are favored, that’s because Anthony Davis probably won’t suit up. However, it has been a dangerous proposition going against LeBron James and the Lakers in this spot. LA has a 3-1 SU record as an underdog or in pick-em games this season – one of those coming in Dallas. This will actually be the final meeting of the regular season already between the teams, so look for LeBron to remind Luka Doncic that he’s still the NBA’s best player; and that his Lakers are in first place of the Western Conference. While the Lakers have won six straight, the Mavs are trending in opposite direction with a 2-4 record in their last six.
10:00 p.m. EST – Milwaukee Bucks (ML: -340) at Sacramento Kings
The Bucks haven’t been their usually-dominant selves in the new
year but all we need them to do is win the ball game. And that’s good,
considering the Kings are 6-1 ATS when underdogs of +7.5 or more; they’re only
2-5 SU in that spot. Richaun Holmes (shoulder) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle)
are both out while Marvin Bagley (foot) is still questionable. Those are a lot
of missing pieces, especially Holmes and Bagley with the height to counteract the
Bucks’ big bodies. Giannis Antetokounmpo has dealt with a lingering back injury
but he should be just fine tonight. Milwaukee is still winning games, just not
crushing teams by double-digits.
Big-Payout NBA Parlay Bet

The Wizards haven’t been a good favorite this season, going 2-5
SU/ATS in those rare situations. However, it’s worth noting most of those games
were earlier on the schedule and Washington hasn’t been favored since Dec. 18.
The Wizards have actually played some good ball this week, winning games outright
at home against the Nuggets and Celtics. We believe they’re onto something and get
the win convincingly tonight.
8:00 p.m. EST – Indiana Pacers at Chicago Bulls – Over 213.5
The Pacers’ defense hasn’t been the same of late and that’s why we’ve seen the totals go over in their last four games. And it also happened in six of Indy’s last eight, with a push mixed in there. The Bulls have also been allergic to defense lately, allowing an average of 115.4 points per game over the last five. It’s no surprise that the total went over in four of those five games. We like the same thing to happen tonight. These are solid matchups for guys like Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine and that’ll lead the scoring.
8:00 p.m. EST – San Antonio Spurs at Memphis Grizzlies – Over 231.5
Both teams have hit the over in five of their last six games. In fact, the Spurs have even done it in eight of the last 10 while the Grizzlies have done the same in 10 of their last 13. The total actually moved down from 234 to 231.5 right after the open, so we’re getting quite the bargain here. This is also a good matchup of pace, where the Grizzlies rank fourth-fastest, and offensive efficiency, where the Spurs rank fourth-best. It will also be a fun matchup of point guards between Ja Morant and Dejounte Murray.
9:00 p.m. EST – Orlando Magic (+2.5) at Phoenix Suns
The Magic typically do most of their damage at home, but they can
certainly make an exception tonight. In games with minimal spreads, the Suns have
been absolutely terrible this season. When listed at/in between -3.5 or +3.5,
Phoenix owns a 5-12 overall record. We’d typically be looking for Orlando to
win the game outright. After all, the Magic have done that in four of the last
five games while the Suns have lost three of the last four and 11 of the last
14. But we’re getting 2.5 points here, so let’s be thankful for that.
