Welcome back to another preview of the best NBA player prop bets on Thursday, January 6, 2022. In this article, I will identify my best NBA player props tonight to make a maximum profit and get us some more money to get going this week.
In this article, we will look at the following players: RJ Barrett, Jonas Valanciunas & Devin Booker.
Best NBA Player Props Today (1/6/22)
Boston Celtics at New York Knicks
Player Prop Pick: RJ Barrett – Over 18.5 Points (-108)
Barrett is coming off a big 32-point performance in his last game, a win at home against the Indiana Pacers. Kemba Walker being out allowed Barrett and Julius Randle to get more shot attempts (20) than anyone else in the Knicks lineup.
Tonight’s matchup against the Boston Celtics will be a tough one, as they own the NBA’s seventh-best defensive efficiency rating. However, Barrett should have over 18.5 shot attempts tonight – let alone points. Getting to the free-throw line will be important against a tough defense like Boston, so we’ll be looking for those calls on the home MSG floor.
Golden State Warriors at New Orleans Pelicans
Player Prop Pick: Jonas Valanciunas – Over 17.5 Points (-105)
Stephen Curry is listed as questionable for the Warriors tonight with a quad bruise. Golden State just played last night, so this might be a good time for Curry to take a break. With that being said, that will slow down the tempo in this game and give Valanciunas more of an important role. In a quicker setting, guys like him would basically be limited to grabbing the occasional rebound.
Valanciunas has posted back-to-back 25-point games in tough matchups against the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz. He will still need to work hard to get over 17.5 points in this matchup, but I have faith since the spread is looking like it’s in New Orleans’ favor here.
Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns
Player Prop Pick: Devin Booker – Over 25.5 Points (-115)
The Suns are huge favorites over the Clippers tonight, making Booker’s outlook of dropping a ton of points all that more realistic. Booker is averaging just under 24 points per game this season, and he just hung 33 on the Pelicans in his last effort.
The Clippers are a much different team these days with no Kawhi Leonard or Paul George. We’re probably looking at a long road ahead for them, but at least Booker will have little to no resistance in trying to score points tonight.
