Welcome back to another preview of the best NBA prop bets on Monday, December 27, 2021. In this article, I will identify my best NBA player props tonight to make a maximum profit and get us some more money to get going this week.
In this article, we will look at the following players: Gordon Hayward, Jalen Brunson, and Nick Claxton.
Best NBA Player Props Today (12/27/21)
Houston Rockets at Charlotte Hornets
Player Prop Pick: Gordon Hayward – Over 3.5 Assists (+110)
I just wrote up Hayward to go over in points in his last game before the break… and he was a major disappointment, going 1-for-10 from the field en route to scoring six points. OK, so let’s switch it up a little bit. Let’s see if he can get over the mark of 3.5 assists.
Hayward has failed to exceed 3.5 assists in each of his last four games, but he did do it in each of his last four games. Clearly, Hayward was looking forward to the holiday break, and his play suffered because of it. The Hornets had a full three days off, so look for him to be much more focused and start helping out his teammates.
Dallas Mavericks at Portland Trail Blazers
Player Prop Pick: Jalen Brunson – Over 21.5 Points (-114)
When Brunson’s outlook appears this optimistic, you know that Luka Doncic is probably out of the lineup. In that scenario, Brunson becomes more of a ball-handler, and that means he’ll be taking more shots as well. While his usage numbers are exactly the same (26%) with Doncic off the court, we have to take a realistic approach to this and realize Brunson will have more opportunities.
Brunson’s outlook gets even better since the Mavericks will be facing the Trail Blazers, who have the NBA’s third-worst defensive efficiency. Look for him to take advantage and clear this mark of 21.5 points.
Brooklyn Nets at Los Angeles Clippers
Player Prop Pick: Nicolas Claxton – Over 6.5 Rebounds (+115)
With the Nets missing Kevin Durant, LaMarcus Aldridge and Cam Thomas, Claxton will likely be the beneficiary of those vacated minutes. Over his last four games, Claxton has played at least 22 minutes and even played a season-high 32 minutes on Christmas Day against the Lakers.
This is a game where the Nets will need Claxton’s length against a bigger team like the Clippers. Look for Claxton to clean up on the glass for the easy win on this prop bet.
