Tuesday’s seven-game NBA slate is sure to be another exciting night on the hardwood. The national-TV doubleheader will be handled by TNT, featuring the Los Angeles Clippers at Indiana Pacers & Boston Celtics at Portland Trail Blazers.
Last night, I went 2-1 to bring my season-long record to 92-55-2 ATS (62.6%). Here are three more free NBA picks to keep things going in the right direction.
Table of contents
- Los Angeles Lakers at Charlotte Hornets (-1.5) – Total: 207
- Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz (-16.5) – Total: 223
- Miami Heat at Phoenix Suns (-3) – Total: 218.5
Los Angeles Lakers at Charlotte Hornets (-1.5) – Total: 207
LAL: back-end b2b (@NYK yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6 (all on the road)
CHA: normal rest, front-end b2b (vs CLE tomorrow)
This is going to be a disastrous situation for both teams in this matchup. The Lakers are on the back-end of a B2B set and a string of four road games in six days. Meanwhile, the Hornets are going to be missing ton of talent due to injury. This has all the makings of a low-scoring game.
Although we have seen the total go over in three of the last four meetings between the teams, this situation is a lot different. Since the Hornets are favored, that leads me to believe the Lakers won’t show up offensively.
Betting Pick: Under 207 points
Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz (-16.5) – Total: 223
OKC: 2 days rest, front-end b2b (vs GS tomorrow)
UTA: back-end b2b (vs WSH yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6, 5 in 7
The Jazz are coming off a dreadful loss at home last night to the Wizards, and I don’t think it’ll be all smooth sailing like everyone thinks. Of course, Utah will win this game, but 16.5 points is certainly a lot to cover for a team playing its fifth game in seven days. Meanwhile, OKC had a full two days of rest before coming into tonight’s game. The Jazz probably wind up winning this game by about 10 points or so, just not the 20+ like we all might initially think.
Betting Pick: Thunder (+16.5)
Miami Heat at Phoenix Suns (-3) – Total: 218.5
MIA: normal rest, front-end b2b (@DEN tomorrow)
PHX: back-end b2b (vs HOU yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6, 5 in 7
I haven’t taken many overs lately, but this matchup was just the fix I needed. The Suns are playing their second game in as many nights, and a string of five games in seven days, so I expect their defense to be a bit shaky.
It’s interesting to note that six of the last seven meetings between the teams have gone over the total. One of those games was this season, a Suns’ 110-110 win.
Betting Pick: Over 218.5 points
