Monday’s eight-game NBA slate gets another great week of basketball action underway. The national-TV doubleheader will be shown on ESPN, featuring the Golden State Warriors at New Orleans Pelicans and Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers.
Thursday was the last article that I wrote, and I went 1-2 to bring my season-long record to 110-76-2 ATS (59.2%). Here are three more free NBA picks to get things going in the right direction this week.
Table of contents
- Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons (-1.5) – Total: 210
- Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards (-3) – Total: 246
- Portland Trail Blazers at Atlanta Hawks (-1.5) – Total: 234.5
Orlando Magic at Detroit Pistons (-1.5) – Total: 210
ORL: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
DET: normal rest, front-end b2b (vs CHA tomorrow)
While this is a game between teams with nothing left to play for, it should still be a fun one. I do, however, favor the Pistons since they have been quite competitive at home this season with a 16-12-1 ATS mark. In addition, Detroit has been strong against Eastern Conference opponents, with a 21-15-1 ATS record. Not to mention, Orlando is playing its third game in four days (and fourth in six).
Betting Pick: Pistons (-1.5)
Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards (-3) – Total: 246
IND: normal rest
WSH: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
I understand that 246 points is a lofty number, but I also feel like this is an aptly charted area. After all, the Pacers have been involved in some crazy high-scoring games of late, and that includes hanging 152 points on OKC in their last game. Prior to that, the game totals in the last three Indy games landed on 243, 243 and 247. Now, with the Wizards in the mix, we should find this game falling somewhere in the 250s.
Betting Pick: Over 246 points
Portland Trail Blazers at Atlanta Hawks (-1.5) – Total: 234.5
POR: back-end b2b (@BOS yesterday), 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6, 5 in 7
ATL: 3 games in 4 days, 4 in 6
Break up the Trail Blazers, who have won all four games on this current East Coast road trip. So, naturally, I’m going to bet against them. In the words of Austin Powers, “I also like to live dangerously.” Then again, maybe it’s not even that much of a risk. After all, Portland had lost five straight before its four-game winning streak – also seven of the previous eight and nine of the previous 10. In addition, the Blazers will be playing their second game in as many nights, and it’ll be a string of five games in seven days.
The Hawks have been strong at home, going 19-11 ATS and 13-5 ATS as a home favorite.
Betting Pick: Hawks (-1.5)
