It wasn’t always smooth sailing for the Chiefs last season. At one point they were actually 6-4 before rattling off six straight regular-season wins and three straight postseason wins en route to winning the Super Bowl. QB Patrick Mahomes is transforming the game with his ridiculous arm strength and ability to elude tacklers in the pockets. His weaponry has even gotten better with the additions of Edwards-Hellaire and Washington to the KC backfield.
The Chiefs defense doesn’t need to be a shut-down unit at all; sort of that “bend but don’t break” mentality. In last season’s Super Bowl, that unit came up with some huge plays at crucial times that changed the course of the game. Of course, this relies on the arm of Mahomes and that’s really all there is to it. The odds right now on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl for a second consecutive season are the best in the NFL.
Denver Broncos

The Broncos have made tons of improvements on the offensive side of the ball. QB Drew Lock as fantastic in his rookie season and now adds Melvin Gordon via free agency and the duo of Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler via the draft; the latter two now team up with Courtland Sutton as one of the best young receiving corps.
Von Miller is still one of the best pass rushers in football, and teaming up with Bradley Chubb will continue to be a headache for opposing offenses. While the Broncos improved mightily on offense, they did not do much to upgrade on defense. It makes sense, though, considering the offense is where the most help was needed.
Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are finally moving on from the Philip Rivers, drafting Justin Herbert with the No. 6 overall pick out of Oregon. A lot of key players moved on from LA but the team did a great job of retooling in both free agency and the draft. It will be interesting to see whether or not the move at QB makes huge strides for the Chargers. After all, that was a big reason why they weren’t a better team.
It will be one of the biggest seasons in Chargers’ history as this will be the first year in a stadium that isn’t falling apart or has less than 30,000. The hope is that new rookie QB will be able to lead this into the new era of football in LA. The rest of the roster is outstanding, and that will always keep them in contention.
Las Vegas Raiders

It’s showtime, baby! The Raiders finally move into their new digs on the Las Vegas strip and this whole experience should prove to be something that is quite incredible. Head coach Jon Gruden is capable of leading a team to perform at its absolute best, and he did a fantastic job of getting a ton of free agents to join him in Las Vegas. The Raiders put a heavy emphasis on the WR position in the draft, taking three of them with their first four picks.
The AFC West will likely be the hardest division for an underdog to win, considering the almighty Chiefs standing atop the odds. If they don’t win ball games, you know the Raiders are at least going to be an exciting story.
