Week 13 MNF Pick: Vikings ML (+128)
The two NFC Wild Card teams face off against another in primetime as the Minnesota Vikings travel to the Northwest to face the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams are in a great position for the postseason but the winner could find themselves closer to winning the division. Our top betting pick is for the Vikings to win outright on the moneyline. Let’s dive into the numbers to see why we’re picking the upset for our MNF Prediction.
Week 13 MNF Betting Lines: Vikings at Seahawks
We figured this line would surprise the masses, considering the visiting Vikings are getting less than a field goal in such a hostile environment. Surprisingly, the differential of bets isn’t as drastic as anticipated.
The Seahawks are getting 62% of public bets and only 52% of all money wagered to cover the 2.5-point spread. However, they are getting much more love on the moneyline with 83% of all money wagered.
We disagree with all that backing and feel like there’s tons of value to be had with the Vikings.
Vikings Betting Form
QB Kirk Cousins has always underperformed in games not played at 1:00 p.m. EST on Sundays. However, we’ve seen that change a bit in recent memory. Cousins was instrumental in the Vikings huge win at Dallas a couple of weeks ago. He’ll have a great opportunity to keep producing against a Seahawks defense that is allowing the fourth-most passing yards per game (268.7) this season. Plus, Cousins leads the NFL in passer rating while the QB on the other side ranks second.
In fact, Minnesota has the fourth-most rushing yards per game (142.5). The attack is led by RB Dalvin Cook, who has the third-most rushing yards in the NFL (1,017). Also, backup RB Alexander Mattison is averaging 4.8 yards per carry – the same as Cook.
Health is also a big factor for the Vikings heading into this game. WR Adam Thielen, OL Josh Kline, DT Linval Joseph, and S Anthony Harris should all be good to go.
Seahawks Betting Form
Perhaps the reason why the Seahawks aren’t favored by more could be the availability of DE Jadeveon Clowney. Even last week against the Eagles, the opening line had the Seahawks as underdogs before eventually shifting like crazy.
Nonetheless, this is the Vikings that they’re playing this week – not an underperforming Eagles team. If the Seahawks are missing Clowney, as it seems, they could very well struggle on defense. The Seahawks have forced the third-most turnovers (24) in football but Clowney is a big reason for that.
QB Russell Wilson gets a chance to see how Lamar Jackson performs on Sunday before his latest MVP audition. Because of the 50-point total, we expect Wilson to have a decent statistical performance against the Vikings. Will it be enough to beat the Vikings? Probably not, but he should have a good fantasy night.
Week 13 MNF Pick: Vikings ML (+128)
While the Vikings are 2-7 in their last nine games coming off the bye week, a lot of things are different this year about the team. In addition, the awkward line on this game is just too tough to look past. We like Cousins & Co. to do the unthinkable and win this game up in Seattle on Monday night.
