ParlayPlay Week 10 Contest – Expert Picks
Josh Allen
Last week’s fluky performance in Jacksonville certainly raised eyebrows around the league, but I would look for that to be a motivation for Allen against the New York Jets this Sunday. QBs facing the Jets in recent weeks have had great success, throwing for at least 250+ yards and two touchdowns in each of the last five games. Before last week, Allen had been on cruise control with a string of big performances, so it shouldn’t take much to get him back in the zone – especially against the Jets.
DFS Pick – Over 284.5 Passing Yards
Tom Brady
Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a bye week to face another team coming off their bye, the Washington Football Team. I wrote about this game in the Games We’re Taking Early article, stating that the total going over 51.5 points is one of my favorite plays of the week. This should be a nice back-and-forth battle between the Bucs and WFT, so Brady will have a field day against the NFL’s worst pass defense (287 pass yds allowed per game).
DFS Pick – Over 313.5 Passing yards
Mac Jones
Jones has been playing a lot better of late, but this could be a game where the New England Patriots try and attack the Cleveland Browns by running the football. The Browns do own the NFL’s eighth-best pass defense (225 pass yds allowed per game), so that will already be tough on the rookie. Not to mention, it is expected to be somewhat windy at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, and that could make things even more difficult.
DFS Pick – Under 231.5 Passing Yards
Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence just capped off the biggest win of his NFL career by stunning the Buffalo Bills last week. Although, the defense should get more recognition, considering the Bills were held to six points. Lawrence can certainly turn it up at a moment’s notice, but I don’t see it happening in this divisional matchup. The rookie has certainly endured some tough times as the QB of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and this could be another one.
DFS Pick – Under 233.5 Passing Yards
Dak Prescott
Prescott had a miserable return to the lineup last week against the Denver Broncos. However, this is a new week, and a new matchup comes along with it. Prescott will take aim against a porous Atlanta Falcons defense that has been shredded numerous times. In three career meetings against the Falcons, Prescott has completed at least 66% of his passes each time. In fact, he even threw for 450 yards when the teams met last season.
DFS Pick – Over 275.5 Passing Yards
Justin Herbert
Herbert is coming off one of his best games of the season, throwing for 356 yards and two touchdowns. Sunday’s matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings is slated to be one of the higher scoring games on the slate. The back-and-forth nature of the game should have Herbert getting over 300 yards once again. Each of the last three QBs to face the Vikings had 40+ pass attempts, so Herbert should be able to do something big with those opportunities.
DFS Pick – Over 286.5 Passing Yards
Jalen Hurts
The Philadelphia Eagles are opting for more of a rushing attack in their last two games. Consequently, Hurts’ numbers have gone down as a result. Over those last two games, Hurts has only attempted 31 passes, and that’s just not going to get it done. Not to mention, Sunday’s road matchup against the Denver Broncos is a tough one.
DFS Pick – Under 200.5 Passing Yards
Patrick Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense has looked all out of sorts in recent weeks, not exceeding 20 points in each of the last three games. It has to get going at some point, and maybe a divisional meeting against the Las Vegas Raiders is just what the doctor ordered. Mahomes has thrown for at least 280+ in all but one of his six career meetings against the Raiders. In fact, he has thrown for at least 340 yards in three of his last four meetings.
DFS Pick – Over 287.5 Passing Yards
