Dallas Stars at Florida Panthers – TOTAL: 6.5
NHL Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-105)
This should be one of the better matchups tonight, considering these two played a 6-5 thriller last week. Typically, I don’t like taking two outcomes to happen like in close proximity within one another, but this is a different circumstance.
The Panthers have been playing plenty of high-scoring games in recent times out, with their game totals having a combined seven goals in each of the last seven games. Their urgency on offense will push the tempo for the Stars and get them scoring goals too in the process.
Anaheim Ducks at Minnesota Wild
NHL Pick: Anaheim Ducks ML (+130)
The Wild has beaten the Ducks twice this season, with both games being decided by a single goal. This time, however, I believe Anaheim will get the best of Minnesota and not get swept in the season series.
After a strong start to the season, the Ducks sort of faltered at a couple different stretches in recent memory. Of course, the COVID-19 outbreak ran its course on the team, but it does look like they’re coming back around to form. I love the plus-odds that we’re getting here on the Ducks, albeit in a road matchup.
Arizona Coyotes at Colorado Avalanche
NHL Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-120)
This might be some of the craziest differentials in odds that I’ve ever seen in a hockey game, but it does make sense with the Avalanche facing the Coyotes. After all, we are getting one of the best teams in the NHL against one of the worst. I guess the sportsbooks are giving us the old Lloyd Christmas, telling us “there’s a chance.”
The Avalanche are coming off a tough OT loss in Nashville on Tuesday night, but they did win five straight games before that. Based on the odds, we should have no doubt that the Avalanche will score plenty of goals tonight. Hell, the puck line odds are at -225 for the Avalanche! The only bet that makes sense here is taking the over on 6.5 goals.
