The NHL schedule has a decent amount of games again tonight, as things are starting to get back to normal. In this article, I will provide my top three hockey picks tonight to make a maximum profit on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
The three games tonight are Carolina Hurricanes at Boston Bruins, New York Islanders at Philadelphia Flyers & Tampa Bay Lightning at Los Angeles Kings. So, let’s dive right in and see where the value is tonight.
Our Favorite NHL Picks Today (1/18/22)
Carolina Hurricanes at Boston Bruins
NHL Pick: Carolina Hurricanes ML (+115)
After briefly losing two straight games, the Hurricanes rebounded on Saturday with a 4-1 victory. Meanwhile, the Bruins will look to make it six wins in a row with a victory tonight. There is no way the Hurricanes are going to make this easy on the Bruins.
Carolina is a very strong 13-4-1 away from home this season, so a trip up to Beantown should be right up its alley. When the teams faced earlier this season in Carolina, the Hurricanes came away with the 3-0 shutout victory.
Philadelphia Flyers at New York Islanders
NHL Pick: Philadelphia Flyers ML (+105)
These two teams just faced last night, with the Islanders winning 4-1. Typically, I like to take the team that lost first in a home-home series, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing tonight. Hell, I even took the Flyers last night in a losing effort – they owe me.
Philly has lost eight straight games, so this pick is certainly not for the faint of heart. Prior to last night’s debacle, the Flyers had lost each of their last three games by one goal, so to see a beatdown like that was certainly surprising. The odds here are just too telling, considering the Islanders were -200 favorites on the moneyline last night and then dropped down to -125 today – and the only thing that changed was the venue.
Tampa Bay Lightning at Los Angeles Kings
NHL Pick: Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (+125)
This should be a pretty good game for most of the night- until the Lightning hopefully pulls away late. At least that’s what I’ll be picking in this matchup, considering Tampa Bay has won each of its last three games by 2+ goals.
The Kings are a strong team and even have a respectable 13-8-2 record at home this season. The last time these teams, faced the Lightning got the 3-2 victory in overtime. However, the odds have spoken and I’m taking the Bolts big.
