Tuesday night’s NHL schedule is an exciting one to kick off the week. But, for my NHL picks today, we will focus on betting opportunities in Philadelphia Flyers at Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers at Dallas Stars & Chicago Blackhawks at Calgary Flames.

Philadelphia Flyers at Tampa Bay Lightning
There is a big difference in terms of bets/money placed in tonight’s Flyers-Lightning matchup. As of noon ET, Tampa Bay is getting about 70% of the bets while Philadelphia is getting about 60% of the money. I’m not necessarily ready to bet on the Flyers based on that information, but it does let me know that they’ll be competitive tonight.
Both teams have had high-scoring affairs in recent games. For instance, Philly had three of its last four go over the total while Tampa had each of its last three do the same. In fact, the last three Lightning games had a combined 25 goals scored between them and the opponents. When the teams met on Thursday, there was a total of seven goals scored in Tampa’s 4-3 victory.
Pick: Over 5.5 Goals (-110)
Edmonton Oilers at Dallas Stars
Both teams have won three of their last four games, but the sharp money here says the Stars are the way to go. The Oilers are a team that we usually don’t have to worry about offensive production with. However, they have scored two goals or fewer in three of their last five games. It’s probably something fluky, but the Stars’ odds in this matchup are telling.
After all, most of Edmonton’s struggles have come on the road with each of its last three losses coming there. On the other hand, Dallas has won each of its last three times on home ice.
Pick: Stars ML (-115)
Chicago Blackhawks at Calgary Flames
The head coaching change did wonders for the Blackhawks, who have now won five of the last six games. This is a team that started out the season and 1-9-2 before the move, and now sits at 6-10-2. The only loss in that span was on the road to a very talented Oilers team that we just talked about earlier.
This is certainly a long-shot bet here on the Blackhawks, but almost 80% of the bets are heading toward the Flames in this matchup. I’ll zig when the public zags more times often than not.
