Wednesday night’s NHL schedule is an exciting one to bring some action during the middle of the week. But, for my NHL picks today, we will focus on betting opportunities in Colorado Avalanche at Toronto Maple Leafs, Seattle Kraken at Detroit Red Wings & Pittsburgh Penguins at Edmonton Oilers.
In this article, I will provide my top three NHL picks tonight to make a maximum profit.
Our Favorite NHL Picks Today (12/1/21)
Colorado Avalanche at Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs are getting some sharp action in this contest against the Avalanche, who are actually taking on most of the bets (70%) and money (82%). A couple of offshore books are the ones taking the sharp action, so perhaps there is something that no one else is seeing here stateside.
Both teams are hot right now, with the Maple Leafs winning four straight games and the Avalanche winning four of their last five. I believe this will wind up being a high-scoring affair, considering Colorado has scored at least five goals in four of their last five games.
Pick: Over 6 Goals (-110)
Seattle Kraken at Detroit Red Wings
This is an odd line here as we’d think the Red Wings would be much higher favorites in this game over the Kraken. Detroit has won three straight games, but here comes Seattle with wins in two straight games, and in four of the last five. It seems like the expansion squad is finally starting to figure it out!
Looking at the betting landscape on this one, the Kraken are taking on about 60% of the bets and 75% of the money. I usually like to go against the crowds like this, but I think we all see the same thing here.
Pick: Kraken (ML +115)
Pittsburgh Penguins at Edmonton Oileres
The game of the night takes place up in Edmonton tonight, with the Oilers hosting the Penguins on TNT in primetime. This game features some of the best talent in the NHL, but I believe we’ll see a tight low-scoring matchup.
Aside from allowing six goals at home against the Canadiens on Saturday, the Penguins have been strong on defense allowing two goals or fewer in four of their last five games. The Oilers will be playing their first game home after a three-game road trip, and we have seen teams struggle in this scenario plenty of times before.
Pick: Under 6.5 Goals
