Looking at the betting landscape, we’re seeing the Wild get almost 85% of the bets while the money wagered is a little closer to 50-50. Neither team is in great form at the moment, with the Wild losing three straight games and the Stars just snapped a five-game losing streak in their last game.
When the teams last played a month ago, the Wild absolutely hammered the Stars by the score of 7-2. Minnesota does still hold the top spot in the Central Division, so it certainly is interesting to see Dallas as the slight favorite. After all, the Stars are still 10 points behind the Wild in the standings. I will trust the money allocation here, though, and go with the home team.
Over 5.5 Goals (-125)
In particular, the Wild have been holding true to their name and playing more exciting games in recent memory. Exciting, of course, means playing games that actually score goals. The defense for the Stars hasn’t been that impressive either, as they’ve allowed at least three goals in each of the last three games and in four of the last five.

You may say, oh, what a bold call to pick the over twice – allow me to elaborate. I do believe that because the first meeting between the teams was so lopsided, that we’ll see the Stars come out with a big of vigor tonight. Not to mention, the Wild are trying to break a three-game losing streak. There will be a ton of motivation on both sides, and that usually amounts to more goals. In my opinion, that scoring will get started quite early.
