The busy schedule of fixtures continues with Premier League matches over the weekend. At the time of writing, there are two planned meetings on Saturday and three on Sunday.
However, please bear in mind that Coivid-19 could disrupt the calendar and there are a number of squads that have reported infections. In total, 12 fixtures have to be rearranged but we have found two Premier League picks on Saturday that we suggest you should combine in a double. If one match does not take place and is void the double becomes a single.
The double pays +896.
EPL Parlay Picks For Gameweek 18
Aston Villa vs Burnley
EPL Best Bet – Aston Villa to beat Burnley to nil at (+190)
Bet | Odds |
Villa to win | -139 |
Draw | +280 |
Burnley to win | +360 |
Aston Villa are moving up the table after facing the potential nightmare scenario of relegation to the Championship. It’s stiil early days but Steven Gerrard is proving himself at this level. Villa won four of the six league fixtures in which he has been in charge. The only blemishes are two defeats by one goal to Manchester City and Liverpool, the two best teams in the Premier League.
The same squad of players that lost five league matches in succession have picked up 12 points from a possible 18 since Gerrard replaced Dean Smith. Villa are now looking like potential Europa League qualifiers which is a major transformation since Gerrard arrived at Villa Park. The upturn in form means that have won four times in eight home matches, scoring 14 goals and conceding 11.
Only Burnley and Newcastle have not won on the road and a trip to Birmingham is unlikely to change that pattern for the visitors in this fixture. Burnley have scored six goals in eight away matches and that tally is not expected to increase because the pick is Villa to win to nil. Momentum is huge in sport and Villa can maintain the current run by beating Burnley without conceding.
Leeds vs Arsenal
EPL Best Bet – Arsenal to beat Leeds -1 goal on the handicap at (+240)
Bet | Odds |
Leeds to win | +280 |
Draw | +270 |
Arsenal to win | -115 |
Leeds welcomes Arsenal to Elland Road for one of the classic North vs South encounters. Arsenal fans with long memories and a certain age will recall the 1972 Cup Final. ‘Sniffer’ Clarke scored the only goal in the second half in a clash between two giants from the old First Division. Leeds were the dominant team of the generation and winning the Cup was a big part of that era.
However, contrast that Don Revie squad with the outfit that lost 7-0 to Manchester City in the week. Confidence must be at a low ebb and facing an Arsenal team who are now fourth in the table and genuine contenders for Champions League qualification is a tough match. Maximum points from their last two matches is the perfect return and they can win three in three against Leeds.
The Moneyline odds look too short for the double. So the second leg of the bet is Arsenal to beat Leeds giving up one goal on the handicap. We also like both teams not to score but we’ll leave that out of this bet.
