With no break for the FA Cup or the internationals, there is a full 10 game schedule in the English Premier League this weekend. There are no blockbuster fixtures but the most significant meeting is Manchester City at home to Tottenham. The visitors have lost three EPL matches in succession and are dropping out of contention for one of the qualifying places for the Champions League.
We have reached the stage of the season at which point Watford, Norwich, and Burnley are playing must-win matches. They are becoming detached at the bottom of the table and are facing the drastic financial implications of losing their place in the Premier League. All the relevant issues have been considered for our three-team Premier League Parlay. Here are our EPL picks:
Three-team parlay (+575):
Aston Villa (-167)
Man Utd (-115)
Wolves (+125)
Best EPL Bets For The Weekend
Aston Villa vs Watford – 10.00am, Saturday
Bet | Odds |
Villa to win | -167 |
Draw | +290 |
Watford to win | +450 |
Aston Villa are seven places and 12 points ahead of Watford and both teams have played 25 matches. Villa have a goal difference of minus 5 while their opponents in this fixture on Saturday have conceded 20 more goals than they have scored. Watford are destined for relegation to the Championship while the home team looks like finishing around the middle of the table.
Villa are an inconsistent outfit but Steven Gerrard has inspired the squad to accumulate enough points to avoid getting involved in and issues with dropping into the second tier. Watford have conceded at least one goal in all but one Premier League fixture. Only Burnley failed to score against the Hornets who have not scored in four matches. Hence, Aston Villa is one of our top soccer picks for this weekend.
Leeds vs Manchester United – 9am, Saturday
Bet | Odds |
Leeds to win | +280 |
Draw | +270 |
Man Utd to win | -115 |
A recent solid run of form has taken United into the top four and one of the Champions League qualifying places. They are still involved in the competition this season and visit Atletico Madrid on Wednesday for the first leg of their last 16 tie. There is enough depth in the squad to deal with Leeds on Sunday before traveling to the Spanish capital.
The hosts have won just three of 11 fixtures at Elland Road, scoring 13 goals but conceding 17. Only the bottom three clubs have also won just three games with home-field advantage. Four visiting teams have picked up three points by beating Leeds on their own territory. Manchester United can make that five with a win in Yorkshire on Sunday.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Leicester City – 11.30am, Sunday
Bet | Odds |
Wolves to win | +125 |
Draw | +220 |
Leicester to win | +230 |
After four wins in five matches, Wolves are now getting into the Champions League qualification picture. They are currently seventh, six points adrift of Manchester United with two games in hand. However, they have scored just eight goals in nine home league matches.
That record is offset by Leicester’s tally of two away wins from 10 games on their travels. Wolves have the greater motivation to prevail in Sunday’s meeting as Leicester are becalmed in mid-table safety. The home team can maintain their momentum so we make Wolves a pick for our Parlay.
